Twin wire press is designed for dewatering of the stock from 4% to 30%. A typical application is thicking of pulp before hot dispersion. Thick stock reduces, enable plug formation, increase dispersion efficiency and reduces steam consumption. Twin wire press operation at low power consumption and has little yield loss compared to other dewatering devices like screw press. The filterate water ppm is much lower and can be easily reused.

Pulp at 4% consistency enters between two wires through pump via flow box and it creates web on the wires. Both wires run with a single drive unit and the the formation area of twin wire press forms a thick mat.

After forming the mat the pulp squeeze through low pressure zone ( pressing in between no. of rolls) and high pressure zone in the pressing section. After high pressure zone the stock achieves 30% consistency.
