PRINTBOND-50 increases the strength properties of board / paper and decreases the air permeability to a greater extent than a film of starch alone at the paper surface. Although it is not added in the wet end, it has a close relation and interaction with wet end additives. Like any wet end sizing agent, it reduces the tendency of water to penetrate into paper.

PRINTBOND-50 is very effective in a wide pH range i.e. for acidic, neutral or alkaline base paper. Its effectiveness greatly improves if the paper has enough internal sizing.

PRINTBOND-50 can be used conveniently in combination with other surface sizing additives. All these features make PRINTBOND-50 a great spray additive to achieve:

1. Increase internal strength properties
2. Excellent improvement in sizing, resulting in reduced sizing chemical consumption in wet end
3. Increase stiffness
4. Improved ply-bond adhesion

It is supplied in ready to use form and its measured quantity is to be added in the prepared starch solution.

Recommended dose of 5 – 10% on weight of starch should be added in the prepared starch solution. For example, in a mill where spray starch is prepared, this chemical is to be added 1.5 Kg.(approx) per Ton of paper.

It is available in 50 Kg. non-returnable drums or intermediate bulk containers of 1000 Kg.

No special care is required. It should be, however, stored under covered area. Shelf life is app. 6 months.
