AQUATITE-C increases the surface strength of paper and decreases the air permeability to a greater extent than a film of starch alone at the paper surface. Although it is not added in the wet end, it has a close relation and interaction with wet end additives. Like any wet end sizing agent, it reduces the tendency of water to penetrate into paper.

AQUATITE-C is very effective in a wide pH range i.e. for acidic, neutral or alkaline base paper. Its effectiveness greatly improves if the paper has enough internal sizing. A good internal sizing helps to keep the size press starch film near the surface.

AQUATITE-C can be used conveniently in combination with other surface sizing additives. All these features make AQUATITE-C a great size press additive to achieve:

1. Increase surface strength i.e. wax pick
2. Excellent improvement in sizing
3. Increase stiffness
4. Improved offset print result

It is supplied in ready to use form and its measured quantity is to be added in the prepared surface sizing solution.

Recommended dose of 5 – 10% on weight of starch should be added in the prepared surface sizing solution. For example in a mill where 20 Kg. of starch is added per Ton of paper, this chemical is to be added 1 Kg. per Ton of paper.

It is available in 50 Kg. non-returnable drums or intermediate bulk containers of 1000 Kg.

No special care is required. It should be, however, stored under covered area. Shelf life is app. 6 months.
